Yearning

To what extent can the self endure?
Before she is swallowed whole
The blackness, the crack is growing
Gaping underneath the earth
Lingers for those who have lost
The confrontation, the crumbling, the amassing
Of murkiness
Stealthily it shifts
Not bothered by the burden
An appetite not satiated by depletion
Of descent
It yearns for the drowning to submerge
Who are clutching
The air
